A Brief Look At The Year So Far

2023

April 3, 2023

Q1, 2023, has gone very quickly. Lots of fun, creative activities were enjoyed in the studio, offsite and virtually too!

Here's a short rundown of what we got up to.

Since the pandemic, we were back on track with selling out our public classes in January and February. We had a flurry of bookings too when we had a visit from lifestyle influencer, Chessie King, who came along to a handmade pottery workshop for a friend's birthday.

In January, we focussed on mindful workshops to gently get creative after a fun-filled December. We ran some in-person vision boards sessions in the studio, plus an offsite vision board session at a Workspace site and a virtual vision boards workshop with mini collage crafty kits for Warner Music.

In February, we hosted another sold out Valentine's night pottery workshop. It was a lovely evening and many keepsake pots were fired. Temperatures rose in the studio and it wasn't just the kiln....

We thoroughly enjoyed running a 27-person paper flower workshop where guests learnt how to make everlasting flowers to give to the person they love.

Another popular workshop this quarter was definitely our public embroidery workshop. Guests made the most beatiful wall hanging designs.

On 2nd March, Maika and I headed off to the PA Show in partnership with The Office Management Group to do a talk about 'the benefits of creativity in the workplace'. It was a 40 minute talk with a couple of creative doodling tasks thrown in. It was super successful and we made some great connections from the event.

From March onwards, the studio got even busier! Hen parties were in full swing every weekend and although the train strikes tried to dappen our spirits, we had a full house of public and corporate workshops.

To round off a brilliant first quarter of the year, Claire and Sienna went off to the Ideal Home Show to teach watercolour painting for beginners.

Needless to say, it's been a successful quarter. We can't wait to see what Q2 has for us in store, but it's looking quite busy already!

Visit us at Hampton Court Palace's Artisan Faire in May or come decorate a tile with us at Bankside Open Spaces Festival in June! Otherwise, have a look a the workshop calendar and visit our studio.
