Summer is officially over.
It was a good one, but now we're happy to be in Autumn mode and excited for some cosy crafting. The cold nights are certainly drawing in but we're being kept warm and snug in the studio by the kiln. And now that the big knits are on, I feel no guilt about eating my way through a pack of bourbons while I get creative 🤷♀️.
We love boobs!
Its true, we do. And we see our fair share of them in the studio (not in the flesh, sadly). It's because of our love for boobs that we're joining in with breast cancer awareness month this October. For every person that comes to the studio and makes something boob or pink ribbon related, we'll donate £3 to cancer research.
You've been punked!
On 30th November we're heading to The Museum of London to host a DIY denim session in collaboration with the museum's London Calling exhibition, showcasing over 100 personal items from punk icons The Clash. The workshop will begin with an introduction from Beatrice Behlen, Senior Curator of Fashion and Textiles, who will show some key customised pieces from the museum's collection. Then it's time to punk your own denim, with patches, studs, tartan and chains.
"A startlingly tall man..."
Now, who could that be referring to? We've been featured in Southwark Business Today magazine with a lovely article by Susan Isaacs who joined us for some lino printing. It's a great piece and really captures the M.Y.O spirit!
Reading is fundamental
There are a few new blogs up on the site this week. First up we've got Where to eat near London Bridge. We're always getting asked for recommendations for places to get some grub after a session at M.Y.O, so we've collated some of our favourites into a handy blog. You're welcome.
