Top Open Air Things To Do

This Summer in London

May 12, 2022

According to reports, the mercury is about to sky rocket as the weather warms up over the coming weeks with the UK reportedly being hotter than Ibiza by the end of this month.

As always, M.Y.O have a solution for the hotter days ahead!

So here's our list of jolly summery outdoor activities with a few of our own workshops thrown in...

Open Air Cinema

There's no shortage of open air cinemas the moment the sun gets his hat on. If you're looking for a view other than the film, why not try the Rooftop Cinema? If If Regent's Park is more your vibe, the Lunar Cinema is popping up there.

Swim In A Lido Or A Seaside Pool

When it gets too hot to handle, why not take a dip in one of London's outside pools? You've got Brockwell Lido, Tooting Bec Lido, Parliment Hill Lido and the most famous one - the Serpentine. Many of the lidos are relatively affordable to gain entry. Some have brilliant water workouts whilst others are great for open water training.

Open Air Theatre

Back to Regent's Park; Legally Blonde and 101 Dalmations the musical are just two of the productions being shown at the open air theatre there. The Globe has a great selection of Shakespear's plays including Much Ado About Nothing for their outdoor season. Lastly, West End live is back in Trafalgar Square for sing-alongs, dancing and much merriment!

Play Bingo & Eat Brunch

There are so many wonderful outdoor bottomless brunch locations across London and some come with a game of Bingo to boot..what a hoot! We love the sound the Vauxhall Food and Beer Garden Drag Bingo.

Ride On A Boat Bar

GoBoat operate from various locations around the UK. We love their Paddington Basin location where you can hire a boat, load up the picnic and have a paddle party for up to 8 people as you navigate your way along the canal.  What's not to love!

 Try Paddleboarding

Active360 have been the largest paddleboarding school on the tidal Thames in London since 2011. They currently have bases in Paddington Basin on the Grand Union Canal, Brentford lock as well as at Kew Bridge on the Thames.  With SUP Yoga, Natural History Tours, private and group lessons, children's classes, Kayaking and Canoeing, we love getting active with these legends!

Try An M.Y.O Outdoor Watercolour Workshop

We have moved some of our watercolour workshops outdoors this summer!

We'll show you how to create your own beautiful watercolour masterpiece, including colour mixing and mark-making, before working on a main piece. You’ll get lots of tips and become more confident in your work, whilst developing your own style. You'll also feel the mindfulness effects of being creative - it's amazing! What's more, is that we'll be doing it in the park next to the studio to get inspired by nature.

And If Hayfever Has Gotten To You...

If you don't want to do activities outdoors or if the Great British Weather has struck, you could try one of our Macrame workshops or kits and have a go at making a plant hanger for your indoor greenery.

Or if Macrame doesn't tickle your fancy, how about trying your hand at embroidery which is a really easy activity to take outdoors or indoors, to do in a coffee shop, at the beach, during your lunch break and to carry around with you so that you can whip it out and continue whenever you get the opportunity.  We have public and private embroidery workshops listed on our website as well as kits so that you can try it at home or send a kit as a gift.

We've got lots of great workshops on throughout the summer here at M.Y.O . Keep in touch via our social media and website to see what's on.
