London never stops to amaze me.
As a city with over 9 million residents and comprised of 32 wildly different boroughs, it bears the most extraordinary mix of culture, art and history that unfold themselves and intersect in the wealth of events offered each month.
Here are four events in October combining past, present, future and fun that you definitely should not miss!
1. Africa Fashion Week London 2021
October is Black History Month, meaning that a series of events will take place, uncovering the long and complicated history of black people in the UK as well as celebrating Black businesses, innovators and artists.
One of these events will be the African Fashion Week from Friday the 8th of October to Saturday the 9th of October. It will be a special showcase featuring the best African-inspired designers from the UK and around the world.
There will also be live business talks, hair & beauty presentations, shopping halls and lots of opportunities to dance and eat.
Don’t miss out on the fun. Book yourself a ticket and go to Freemasons’ Hall between the 8th and the 9th.
2. London Craft Week
London has long had a fashion week and a design festival but now there is also London Craft Week, a magical combination of creativity, imagination and dedication to making things!
LCW will take place from the 4th to the 10th of October. It will feature, pop-ups, exhibitions and workshops held at 200+ locations across London.
The aim is to champion and showcase the work of British makers and highlight the tradition and innovation behind British craftsmanship.
There will also be food, drinks, talks, tours and lots of opportunities to get crafting, so don’t wait! Go to the website, pick an event and get crafty at LCW.
3. London Literature Festival
The theme of this year’s London Literature Festival will be friendship. How lovely is that? It will run from the 21st of October to the 31st and feature talks and workshops throughout the month culminating in a set of discussions with this year’s Booker Prize nominees!
Another interesting event at the end of the month will be The Poetry Snack Club with Dhaqan Collective.” It will be a journey through modern poetry with Asmaa Jama and a group of Somali elders, exploring the topic of intergenerational friendships.

4. Frieze Art Fairs 2021 In Regent’s Park
The Frieze Art Fairs in beautiful Regent’s Park are your opportunity to view, browse and buy world-class art from the best international galleries.
One of the highlights will be “Unworlding”, a display of thought-provoking artworks themed around the undoing of the world as we know it.
Next to physical exhibitions, there will also be the Frieze Viewing Room, for online audiences around the world to explore.
So whether you are in the mood to stay at home or go out, are in London, or abroad, the Frieze Art Fairs are something you do not have to miss out on and definitely should not!
