The M.Y.O team - thank you!

Read on to see how else they may be able to help you creatively!

  • What the Team Do

Find out more about the M.Y.O team of creatives

    Kirsty Poole

General Manager and All Round Maker

Kirsty, who hails from Birmingham, joined the M.Y.O team in July 2019 to run the studio day-to-day and is smashing it! She left her corporate job doing Internal Comms to get some more creativity back in her life, since leaving it to the weekends after studying Art & Design and Product Design. An avid traveller, skier, musical watcher and maker of all things from Macrame, crochet (amigurumi apparently!) to sewing! Favourite colour? Blue.

Check out her creative blog here.

    Polly Crossman

Master Calligrapher, illustrator and watercolour painter

@pollycrossman is an illustrator and stationer working in ink, pencil and watercolour. Taking inspiration from architecture, plants, flowers, travel and the outdoors, she specialises in creating stationery for weddings or celebrations: tailor-made invitations, illustrated maps and particulars, RSVP cards, menu designs, venue drawings, table plans, table names and place cards. Everything is original: no re-prints, no cut and paste, no old work.

Polly hosts our Modern Calligraphy, Illustrated Maps of London and Watercolour Flower Painting Classes. See her creative blog for M.Y.O here.

    Check out Pollycrossman.com or e-mail Hello@PollyCrossman.com.

    Charley Ive

All-round creative, theatre director and writer

Charley has been hosting with M.Y.O since summer 2018. She runs Scrawny Cat, a theatre company, which is currently (June 2019) running a show called What You Risk. It's a contemporary piece about women as active participants in history fighting to make their voices heard. Well worth watching! She also works in The National Theatre and is always working on a new script or helping others on their theatre productions.

Charley hosts a wide range of our classes, from lino printing to painted ceramics!

Check out @Chive26,  @Scrawnycat and her creative blog.

    Georgie Jones

    Actor, poet, performer, maker, baker

Georgie is a lady of many talents! From being part of a hilarious sketch comedy group (Just These, Please - performing at Edinburgh Fringe for 2nd year running), to performing her own solo show (Ish), to writing poetry (Poetry Jones) on commission to making, baking and acting.

Georgie hosts a wide range of our classes, from t-shirt/tote bag design to our book some creative studio time.

Check out @Georgie_Jonez to see what she's up to and her creative blog.

    Amy Williams

    Textiler, quilter and lino printer

Amy is from all the way up in Yorkshire! She's been a creative ambassador of M.Y.O since the early days and loves helping guests get creative through embroidery at M.Y.O. She also does bespoke lino and screen printing commissions and hopes to set up a creative space in Yorkshire one day. Always has something on the go, usually fabric / textile based.

Check out @AmyWilliamsTextiles and her creative blog.

    Rosalind King

Bunting maker, Patchwork specialist and Event decor

Having studied Textile Design in uni, Ros has always had a passion for making bunting for special occasions and hand stitched patchwork. She creates personalised bunting, cushions and quilts and is able to reuse any special fabric you may have. She also rents bunting for events and is able to support with event decor. An avid festival goer, face painter and always with fabric and a needle close to hand, Ros has helped make the studio look great and helps us host creative sessions at festivals (like flag making and face painting!). She also recently ran away to the circus for a while, literally!

Check out @RebelBunting and her creative blog.

    Jamie Temple

    Printmaker and Woodworker

Jamie hails from Scotland and has been working in printmaking for over 10 years and hosts a variety of printing based workshops all across London, in places like the Barbican, and recently returned from a month-long creative residency in Nigeria. Jamie regularly takes on bespoke commissions also. See his creative blog for M.Y.O here.

He hosts our lino printing and notebook making workshops.

Jamie has his first solo exhibition coming up from September 20th-22nd 2019 in Deptford, where you can book onto monoprinting, linocut or the exhibition itself here.

Check out @TemplePrints, check out his shop on CargoCollective or e-mail Jamie@Temple-Prints.com.

    Abby Hobbs

    All round Illustrator and Designer

Abby is the latest part of the team and loves drawing, painting and illustrating. She does commissions for companies, websites, children's books and tonnes more.

She hosts our chalkboard lettering and notebook making classes, along with helping on a few more.

    Pottery Teacher? We need You!

    Pottery Pro

We are on the lookout for a #potteryteacher to help us grow that section of M.Y.O from the end of July.
Ideally based within 45 mins of our London Bridge studio, with flexibility during the week, passion for what M.Y.O is about and the joy of hosting guests while they get creative, along with time to help us grow it and spread more fun clay time to adults across London!
We need expertise in #handbuilding pottery as we don't have a wheel(s) yet (we will in the future!). We run a few lovely and relaxing handmade pottery classes - terracotta planters (see pic), pinch pots, slab & coil plates and bowls and a Make Your Own Teapot one. Open to ideas too.
If you are keen or know someone who may be, please message us, we'd love to hear from you. It could be from 1-3 classes per week.

    You?

Have a desire to help spread more creativity and colour around the world?

We're regularly on the look out for general creatives, potters, textilers, studio helpers and everything in between, so if there's a particular class you like to teach or job you'd like to do to keep our studio looking amazing, drop us an e-mail on Hello@MYO.Place. Thanks

    Alex Woolley

    Filmmaker and Maker

    More coming soon!
