MYO and Working With Us
A bit about us
M.Y.O is on a mission to spread the joy of creativity, connection and happiness to adults all over the world! We have a studio in London Bridge and currently run over 14 different creative workshops, where people learn arts and crafts and how to express their creative side, in a fun, positive and relaxing environment.
Over the last 5 years we’ve hosted 10,000s of adults in our studio, for public classes and events like creative team building, hen parties and birthdays, and off-site at festivals, company offices and brand activations. We’re virtual now too, of course! We also occasionally produce crafty how-to video content for world famous brands, have a range of creative kits and a podcast about bringing creativity to life and business. Lots more ideas in the pipeline too.
We’ve worked with Diageo to launch a new Irish whiskey, hosted teams from Google, LinkedIn, Warner Music, Monzo, Virgin, been at events like The Classic Boat Festival, Life Lessons at the Barbican and the Hackney Half, to working with organisations like Imperial College bringing science to life through creativity and have been featured in the Evening Standard, Time Out, Lonely Planet, Balance Magazine, Business Insider and lots more. 5 years in, still so many exciting opportunities to go after and it feels like we’re ready to take it to the next level!
We are a self-funded, independent business that likes to do things differently, and were co-founded by couple Diana Muendo and Samuel Lehane. We have a nimble and brilliant dynamic team, with a great mix of creative and corporate experience, along with the support of additional freelance creatives to host classes. General Manager (maternity cover) Role Description
Is this your dream role?
What we are looking for
- We need a bit of an all-rounder to keep M.Y.O and our Borough studio (SE1 1HA) in tip top shape whilst our lovely Maika is on maternity leave from mid December 2023. You’ll also get the opportunity to learn and help lead some of our creative classes and will work closely with our wonderful studio assistant Carla. You’ll get to run the studio like a well oiled machine, so that everything is available for our fantastic creative hosts and classes, so that guests have a great creative experience with us, along with helping to make the world a more colourful and connected place.
- This is a 4 - 5 day a week General Manager type role, that is ideal for someone who has some corporate experience, likes keeping things organised, takes on responsibility to get things done, has a creative urge, willingness to learn, friendly manner and enjoys the thought of making an impact with a can-do and creative spirit.
